Responsibilities:
- 55% Teaches ARTS courses—including ARTS appreciation as assigned by departmental chair.
- 10% Uses appropriate technology for lesson communication.
- 10% Stays current in both the professional field and current teaching/learning best practices.
- 10% Works as a team member in the Fine Arts Department.
- 10% Contributes to department assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements.
- 5% Complies with the faculty responsibilities as related in the Faculty Handbook and the Board Policy and Procedures Manual.
Performance Measurements:
1. Demonstrates the Viking Values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust.
2. Complies with all federal and state laws and regulations relating to higher education.
3. Ensures effective student services and high-quality customer service are provided.

Qualifications:
- The position requires a Master's degree or higher in art from an accredited college or university.
- Must be able to meet face-to-face choir courses on the Denison, TX campus twice a week during our sixteen-week term.
- Must have one to two years of related experience.
- Must have previous successful experience teaching arts in a high school, university and/or community college, and demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process.
- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
- Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.
- Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
